14 February 2006
• AGE-NC Project No 98-0448
' Page 6 of 9
' 43 RESULTS OF VAPOR EXTRACTION
Between 07 September 2005 and 22 November 2005, the SVE and IAS remediation systems were
' operational for a total of 1,824 hours(76 days), the SVE and IAS remediation systems have totaled
38,224 hours of operation since initiation on 16 April 2001 (Table 7) During the above operational
period, SVE inlet flow rates were recorded at between 44 and 54 cubic feet per minute (cfm) and
' differential pressures were recorded between 0 5 and 0 75 inches of water Utilizing a photo
ionization meter (PID), SVE inlet hydrocarbon concentrations were measured between 0 5 and 1
parts per million by volume (ppmv) Field measurements are summarized in Table 6
I
44 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL-GAS VAPOR SAMPLES
' During the fourth quarter 2005, SVE air flow samples were collected on 10 October and 22
November 2005 TPH-g, BTEX nor MTBE were not detected above the laboratory reporting limits
I in the influent air flow samples collected from the October 2005 sampling event TPH-g and BTEX
were detected in the November 2005 sample at concentrations of 230 µg/1 TPH-g, 6 5 µg11 benzene,
21 µg/1 toluene, 4 0 µg/1 ethylbenzene and 24 µg/1 total xylenes
' •
Analytical results of SVE air flow samples are summarized in Table 5 The laboratory reports Cal
Yt p rY p (
' Tech Environmental Laboratories I D nos 0510-109 and 0511-158), QA/QC reports and chain of
custody forms are presented in Appendix D A plot of influent TPH-g SVE air flow concentrations
versus time is in Appendix E,GeoTracker confirmation pages of the submitted laboratory electronic
' deliverable format (EDF) files are included in Appendix G
' 45 MASS CALCULATION OF RECOVERED PRODUCT
The hydrocarbon mass removed during the SVE operating period was calculated using the following
' equation M = C•Q•t
where M =cumulative mass recovered (kg)
' C = vapor concentration (kg/m3)
Q = extraction flow rate (m3/hr)
t=operational period, in hours
I
Between 07 September 2005 and 22 November 2005,the SVE unit operated for approximately 1,824
hours The average of analytical results between SVE air flow sampling events (Table 6), average
SVE air flow rates, (Table 7) and the operational period were used to calculate the approximate
Advanced GeoEnvironmenbl,Inc
I
