07 July 2000 i <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0448 <br />' Page 5of12 <br /> • Installation of remediation wells, <br /> Installation of underground remediation piping system, <br /> * 0 Soil vapor extraction and in-situ air sparging system start-up period, <br /> • Momtoring and maintenance, <br /> • Progress/confirmation sampling <br /> Each of these tasks are discussed below in detail <br /> 3 1 PERMITTING, PLANNING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTNITIES <br /> Applicable permits will be obtained from the PHS-EHD, the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution <br /> Control District (SJVAPCD) and the City of Stockton Building Department (if necessary) prior to <br /> initiation of the remediation project As required by PHS-EHD permitting, a health and safety plan <br /> will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for <br /> Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S Environmental Protection Agency, 1985) Prior to <br /> digging activities, each proposed digging location will be clearly marked and an utility clearance <br /> obtained through Underground Service Alert <br /> 3 2 INSTALLATION OF REMEDIATION WELLS <br /> An SVE system in conjunction with an IAS system is proposed to reduce petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> mass within the "core"petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted area at the site In order to maximize the <br /> efficiency of the clean-up efforts, a 24-hour operation of the system is planned A typical carbon <br /> adsorption capture rate of greater than 95%of hydrocarbon vapors is expected throughout the entire <br /> cleanup duration <br /> Three additional SVE wells and four additional IAS wells will be installed at the site to supplement <br /> remediation efforts of the core petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted area at the site Proposed SVE well <br /> locations are illustrated in Figure 3, proposed IAS well locations are illustrated in Figure 4 <br /> Based on an estimated SVE radius of influence of 13 feet(Corrective Action Plan, dated 15 February <br /> 2000), AGE proposes installation of SVE wells in the following locations <br /> - approximately 10 to 20 feet north-northeast of MW-2 in the warehouse building structure, <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I , <br />
