i
J
29 October 1998
AGE-NC Project No 98-0448
' R
' ranging between 0 009 ppm and 0 56 ppm The lughest concentration of benzene was reported in the
40-foot sample from MW-4 at 0 11 ppm MTBE was not detected above laboratory reporting limits
for any of the analyzed samples
None of the fuel oxygenates were detected above laboratory reporting limits The analytical results
of selected soil samples are summarized in Table i The laboratory reports(McCampbell Analytical
Inc Lab I D No 92978 through 92994, 94081 and 94083)and chain-of-custody forms,are included
in Appendix E
' Two soil samples(MW4-25 and MW4-45) were submitted for laboratory analysis of permeability,
porosity, moisture and total organic content Analysis of MW4-25 reported an average permeability
t - of 2 x 10'' ,porosity at 37 42 percent, moisture at 20 9 percent and organic content at 14 percent
' Analysis of MW4-45 reported an average permeability of 3 x 10'$ ;porosity at 39 98 percent,
moisture at 23 7 percent and organic content at 13 percent The laboratory results of the analysis
' are summarized In Table 2 The laboratory reports (Cooper Testing Laboratory Job No 255-009)
{ and chain-of-custody forms are included In Appendix F
3 5 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' Between August and September 1998, a total of thirteen ground water samples were submitted to
DTSC-certified laboratories for analysis TPH-g was detected in ground water samples collected
from wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4A, MW-413 and MW-6 at concentrations ranging between 160 -
' parts per billion(ppb, reported as micrograms per liter) and 140,000 ppb Laboratory data indicates
that the greatest concentrations of dissolved TPH-g are located near wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-4
(Figure 11)
BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-1,MW-2,MW-
4A, MW-413 and MW-6 at concentrations ranging as high as 39,000 ppb (toluene, MW-4A) The
greatest benzene concentrations were detected in samples collected from wells MW-2, MW-4A and
MW413 at concentrations between 12,000 ppb and 20,000 ppb Utilizing EPA Method 8020,MTBE
' was detected from MW-2 at a concentration of 690 ppb, however, MTBE was not detected and
confirmed by EPA Method 8260
I
DIPE was collected from MW-2 at a concentration of 51 ppb,no other fuel oxygenates were detected
above laboratory reporting limits The analytical results of quarterly ground water samples are
summarized In Table 4. The laboratory reports (McCampbell Analytical Inc Lab I D No 94289
through 94293 and 95233 through 95240)and chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix G
u
Advanced GroEnvironmental,Inc
r
