l Joe's Truck Plaza <br /> Page 3 <br /> July 2001 <br /> 1 v 26, <br /> `i <br /> I <br /> OBJECTIVE <br /> The objective of the investigation is to establish the vertical and horizontal limits of <br /> groundwater impact to the subject property. <br /> i <br /> f SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Site Safety and Health Plan <br /> Prior to subsurface testing, as required by law, a Site Safety and Health plan (Attached) <br /> will be prepared in order to insure that all workers and sub-contractors are aware of the <br /> risks and safety procedures associated with this Phase II Subsurface Site Assessment. <br /> Permits <br /> Prior to subsurface testing, encroachment permits will be obtained from the PHSSJC <br /> prior to initiation of drilling. An access agreement with the adjacent property owner <br /> is already in place. This access agreement will need to be updated showing the new <br /> i boring locations. <br /> i <br /> Underground Service Alert <br /> As required by law, Underground Service Alert (USA) will be contacted to check the <br /> i proposed geoprobe locations for conflict with public utilities, such as gas or electrical <br /> j <br /> lines. <br /> Subsurface Testing <br /> Six geoprobe borings will be placed offsite. Geoprobe borings will be advanced to a <br /> depth of 20 feet bgs and will be continuous cores. Detailed lithologic descriptions will <br /> be made in each geoprobe boring. Soil samples will be collected every five feet and <br /> select samples will be analyzed for TPH-D and TPH-G by EPA Modified 8015, BTEX <br /> f by EPA Method 8260 and for Oxygenated Compounds which will include Tertiary <br /> 1 " Butanol, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME. Groundwater grab samples will be collected <br /> from each geoprobe boring and will be analyzed for TPH-D and TPH-G by EPA <br /> f Modified 8015, BTEX by EPA Method 8260, and for Oxygenated Compounds which <br /> will include Tertiary Butanol, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME. All samples will be <br /> analyzed by a Department of Health Services (DHS)-Certified Laboratory. <br /> j <br />
