The State Water Resource Control Board (SWRCB) will
invoice you directly for activities performed under the auspices
of the Local UST Oversight Program. The goal of the site /
evaluation performed by Public Health Services Environmental
Health Division (PHS/EHD) is to certify closures of underground
tank leakage sites . Closure certification occurs only after
mitigation activities are completed.
The groundwater sample collected in 1988 from underneath the
former underground storage tanks showed significant levels of
gasoline contamination in the groundwater at the site . Pursuant
to Section 2724 , Article 11, Chapter 16 of the California Code of
Regulations, you are required to investigate the full extent of
any soil and/or groundwater contamination resulting from a
release from the underground storage tanks formerly located at t
the site . To accomplish this task, you must hire a consulting
firm to prepare and execute a workplan which must include the
installation of soil borings and monitoring wells at the site .
Enclosed is a list of consulting firms which engage in this type
of work. In addition to the former tank pit area, the former
piping and dispenser areas must also be investigated.
Please submit to PHS/EHD by December 15, 1995, a workplan to
investigate the above noted areas at the site.
t
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
