4.0 WORK PLAN
The objectives of the proposed scope of work are to
' • Further define the lateral extent of impacted soil and groundwater,
• Test the feasibility of soil and groundwater remedial alternatives
To achieve these objectives, Ramage Environmental proposes to
• Install three additional groundwater monitoring wells,
• Install one nested soil vapor extraction well, and one nested air sparge/soil vapor
extraction well,
• Conduct soil vapor extraction and air sparge feasibility tests
41 Project Planning and Permitting
Prior to initiating fieldwork, a site-specific health and safety plan addendum will be prepared
according to 29 CFR 1910 120 The health and safety plan will include safety procedures,
chemical hazard information, site safety officers, and a medical emergency location
To perform the drilling scope of work, a well permit will be obtained from EHD Since all of the
work is to completed on-site, neither off-site access agreements nor encroachment permits will be
required At least two working days prior to any field work, Ramage Environmental will notify EHD
1 so that inspections can be scheduled Underground Service Alert will also be notified so
members can mark their underground utilities
42 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installations
1 To further investigate the distribution of impacted soil, define the lateral extent of impacted
groundwater at the water table, delineate the stratigraphy of shallow subsurface soils, and expand
the groundwater monitoring network at the site, three additional groundwater monitoring wells will
be installed The proposed well locations will be approximately 70 feet west, 180 feet south, and
225 feet southeast of the former UST #3 (Figure 3) The proposed well to the west will be located
' for use as an observation well during the proposed remedial feasibility tests The other two
proposed wells are positioned further from the source area to attempt to define the lateral extent
of Impacted groundwater
11
