Due <br /> to a future development eminent held by the City of Lathrop,Tosco cannot install new USTs into the <br /> existing UST pit and will have to excavate a new UST pit to the east of the existing pit. This change in <br /> the proposed scope of work will limit the available space for temporary storage of soil stockpiles at the <br /> site. Therefore.Tosco is proposing to transport soil to Forward Landfill as it is excavated during the <br /> upcoming UST removal,including possible over-excavation of impacted soils (if necessary), and <br /> excavation of the new UST pit- <br /> Daring the referenced excavation activities,Tosco is proposing to load excavated soil directly into trucks <br /> for transportation, under bill of lading, to Forward Landfill, in Manteca, California(Forward)for <br /> temporary storage under thew stockp'il'ing agreement_ Tosco will self certify that the soil is nonhazardous, <br /> band on gear knowledge and historical soil and groundwater analytical results for the site. The soil <br /> will be transported to Forward by Manley and Sons Trucking.Inc.(Certified Hazardous waste Hauler No. <br /> 2843). <br /> Soil samples for disposal characterization will be collected as the soil is being loaded or immediately after <br /> j the sod has been transported to the temporary stockpiling emit at Forward. Characterization samples will <br /> be analyzed on a rush basis to gain acceptance for disposal at Forward prior to the expiration of the <br /> temporary stockpiling period of 17 days. If analytical results determine that the soil is unacceptable for <br /> .
