S ECOR
the hydrocarbon constituents were detected in soil. Four groundwater samples (B-1, B-2, B-4, and
B-5) contained MtBE at concentrations ranging from 3.0 to 10,000 ppb.
On May 28 and 29, 2002, GR installed five additional offsite groundwater monitoring wells (MW-13
through MW-17) at the locations shown on Figure 2. The well borings were drilled to depths ranging
from 20 to 21 feet bgs. Groundwater was encountered in the well borings during drilling at depths
ranging from approximately 8 to 10 feet bgs. All soil samples analyzed were non-detect for all
hydrocarbon constituents, except for soil sample MW-16-S9.5, which contained MtBE at a
concentration of 0.040 ppm. MtBE was detected in all groundwater samples collected from the
newly installed monitoring wells at concentrations ranging from 28 to 3,900 ppb. All other
hydrocarbon constituents and fuel oxygenates were non-detect.
An ozone sparge unit was placed into operation on December 20, 2002 and injects ozone in to
sparge wells SPA through SPA 5.
RECENT QUARTER ACTIVITIES (Fourth Quarter 2003)
1. Performed quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling (TRC).
2. Prepared and submitted a quarterly summary report.
3. Performed remedial system operation and maintenance.
NEXT QUARTER ACTIVITIES (First Quarter 2004)
1. Prepare and submit a quarterly summary report.
2. Perform quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling.
3. Performed remedial system operation and maintenance.
CHARACTERIZATION/REMEDIAL STATUS
Soil contamination delineated?
