Well MW-22 was not installed due to the presence of utilities in '
the immediate vicinity of the proposed location (private property access road). SECOR
submitted an Addendum to Work Plan for the Installation of Well MW-22 on June 17,
2005, which included a proposal for installing well MW-22 at the same location using
Geoprobe direct push drilling equipment. Following the receipt of the addendum work
plan, the SJCEHD contacted SECOR and indicated that the proposed well construction
details were not in compliance with the California Department of Water Resources
(DWR) Water Well Standards, which require a minimum of two inches of annular space
between the well casing and the borehole. SECOR submitted a Second Addendum for
the Installation of Well MW-22 on July 15, 2005, which proposed the installation of well
MW-22 using the hollow stem auger drilling method, as originally proposed in the initial
work plan, at an alternative location located on private property (Holiday Inn property).
The second addendum work plan was approved by SJCEHD in correspondence dated
July 20, 2005.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
SECOR will continue to evaluate dissolved concentrations, and operate and perform
monthly maintenance of the OS system at the site. During the third quarter 2005,
SECOR will complete off-site assessment activities to delineate the extent of dissolved
impacts south to southeast of the site. SECOR will submit the results of off-site
assessment activities in a Site Conceptual Model as requested by the SJCEHD in f
correspondence dated September 28, 2004. f
THIS QUARTER ACTIVITIES (Second Quarter 2005)
1
1. SECOR prepared and submitted the Quarterly Summary Report— First Quarter
2005 on May 6, 2005.
2. Groundwater monitoring and sampling activities were performed by TRC on May
25, 2005 and June 6, 2005. On the June 6, 2005 date, TRC uncovered, and
monitored and sampled well MW-14. Well MW-12 was not found during the May
25, 2005 sampling event due to tall grass in the area; the well was later found,
monitored, and sampled along with well MW-14 on June 6, 2005.
3. SECOR continued operation, and performed monthly maintenance of the OS
system.
4. In accordance with the September 13, 2004 Work Plan for Additional Site
>` Assessment, SECOR completed the installation of two of the three off-site wells
I:1ConocoPhillipslRetail Sites1111951QSR&QRPS 2005/11195 QSR&QRPS 2Q05.doc
a
