WORK PLAN FOR ADDITIONAL GROUNDWATER DELINEATION AND OZONE MICROSPARGE SYSTEM INSTALLATION at Tosco(Former BP)Service Station No. 11195 16500 South Interstate-5 Lathrop,California Report No. 140193.14-1 INTRODUCTION At the request of Tosco Corporation (Tosco), a subsidiary of ConocoPhillips, Gettler-Ryan Inc. (GR) has prepared this Work Plan for the installation of three offsite groundwater monitoring wells to further evaluate groundwater conditions downgradient of the subject site. This work was recommended in GR's report number 140193.12-2, Monitoring Well Installation Report, dated July 24, 2002. This Work Plan also describes the proposed installation of an ozone microsparge r system and ozone sparge points as an interim remedial action, as recommended in GR's report number 140193.13,Interim Corrective Action Plan, dated August 28, 2002. The proposed scope of work includes: updating the site safety plan; obtaining the required well and sparge point installation permits; installing three offsite groundwater monitoring wells; installing onsite ozone sparge points; installing an ozone microsparge system; surveying monitoring wellhead elevations; developing and sampling the wells; collecting and submitting selected soil samples for chemical analysis; arranging for Tosco's contractor to dispose of the waste materials and preparing a report presenting the observations associated with the well installation and the sparge system startup. The scope of work proposed in this work plan is intended to comply with the State of California Water Resources Control Board's Leaking Underground Fuel Tanks (LUFT) Manual and California Underground Storage Tank Regulations, 1994, the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites, and the San Joaquin County Public Health Services—Environmental Health Division(EHD) guidelines.
