GETTLER - RYAN1INC.N <br /> MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION REPORT <br /> for <br /> Tosco (Former BP) Service Station No. 11195 <br /> 16500 South Interstate - 5 <br /> Lathrop, California <br /> Report No. 140193.12-2 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Tosco Corporation(Tosco),a subsidiary of Phillips 66 Petroleum Company,Gettler <br /> -Ryan Inc. (GR)has prepared this report presenting the observations associated with the installation <br /> of five off-site groundwater monitoring wells. The purpose of this investigation was to further <br /> evaluate groundwater conditions downgradient of the subject site. This work was originally <br /> proposed in GR report# 140193.12-1, Work Plan For Monitoring Well Installation, dated April 17, <br /> 2002. The Work Plan was approved by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> = Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS-EHD), in a letter to Tosco dated May 7, 2002. <br /> The scope of work performed included:-.updating the site safety plan; obtaining the required well <br /> installation permits; installing five-off-site monitoring wells; collecting soil samples for description <br /> and preparation of boring logs; submitting selected soil samples for chemical analysis; surveying <br /> wellhead elevations; developing and sampling the wells; arranging for Tosco's contractor to dispose <br /> of-the waste-materials and preparing-a-repm presentingrthe-findings of this investigation. <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> 2.1 General <br /> The-5ubject.site is. situated immediately_east of the Louise Avenue off-ramp of Interstate 5 at the <br /> southwest corner of East Louise Avenue and Harlan Road in Lathrop, California(Figure 1). Current <br /> station facilities include two 12,000-gallon double-wall gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs), <br /> two dispenser islands, related product lines, one canopy, and a station building. Former station <br /> —facilities removed during construction activities performed in December 1998-and January 1999 <br /> included one 10,000-gallon, one 8,000-gallon, and one 6,000-gallon single-wall fiberglass gasoline <br /> USTs, two dispenser islands, related product lines, and one canopy. <br /> i <br /> E <br /> Six-mr-site-groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-6) and five off-site-groundwater k <br /> monitoring wells (MW-8 through MW-12) are present at and around the site.
