------------------------------- <br /> i <br /> ETTLER -- YAN INC. <br /> WORK PLAN FOR MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION <br /> at <br /> Tosco (Former BP) Service Station No. 11195 <br /> 16500 South Interstate-5 <br /> Lathrop, California <br /> Report No. 140193.12-1 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Tosco Marketing Corporation, a.subsidiary of Phillips Petroleum Company <br /> (Tosco), Gettler-Ryan Inc. (GR) has prepared this Work Plan for the installation of five off-site <br /> groundwater monitoring wells to further evaluate groundwater conditions beneath the subject site. <br /> This work was recommended in GR's report number 140193.11-2, Subsurface Investigation Report, <br /> dated April 11, 2002. The proposed scope of work includes: updating the site safety plan; obtaining <br /> < }3 the required well installation permits; installing five off-site monitoring wells; surveying wellhead <br /> elevations; developing and sampling the wells; collecting and submitting selected soil samples for <br /> chemical analysis; arranging for Tosco's contractor to dispose of the waste materials and preparing <br /> a report presenting the observations associated with the well instatlation. <br /> The scope of work proposed in this work plan is intended to comply with the State of Califomia <br /> Water Resources Control Board's Leaking Underground Fuel Tanks (LUFT) Manual and <br /> California Underground Storage Tank Regulations, 1994, the Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board (RWQCB) Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and <br /> Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites, and the San Joaquin County Public Health Services — <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) guidelines. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The subject site is situated immediately east of the Louise Avenue off-ramp of Interstate 5 at the <br /> southwest corner of East Louise Avenue and Harlan Road in Lathrop, California (Figure 1). <br /> Current station facilities include two 12,000-gallon double-wall gasoline USTs, two dispenser <br /> islands, related product lines, one canopy, and a station building. Former station facilities <br /> removed during construction activities performed in December 1998 and January 1999 included <br /> one 10,000-gallon, one 8,000-gallon, and one 6,000-gallon single-wall fiberglass gasoline USTs, <br /> two dispenser islands, related product lines, and two canopies. <br /> ` 140193.12-1 <br /> 6747 Sierra Court , Suite J Dublin , California 94568 ( 925 ) 551 -7555 <br />
