NRC Equity Fund 1
6.0 CANNABIS WATER USAGE
Water usage for cannabis cultivation varies based on a variety of factors — planter size,
media density, climate type, indoor v outdoor cultivation, cannabis strain, etc. The
Mendocino Cannabis Policy Council and the Emerald Growers Association estimate
cannabis requires one gallon of water per pound of cannabis, per day. Based on an average
150-day growing cycle, one pound of cannabis (545 grams/1,000 joints) would require 150
gallons of water. NRCEF will install a Delta T Custom Cannabis Irrigation Water Recover
System, the effects of which are described in Exhibit 9.
Beyond water usage, storm water runoff is also a concern due to the vast amounts of
impervious area created by greenhouses, and the potential for pesticide runoff.
(Left Intentionally Blank)
Page 24 1 54
