Box 757 <br /> Ripon, CA 95366 <br /> Dear Mr. Mickelson: <br /> As per our recent discussions, we need to install and have access <br /> to two additional groundwater monitoring wells on your property <br /> in Ripon, CA. These wells are required by the Central Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) as part of an <br /> ongoing investigation to evaluate the extent of organic chemical <br /> migration in the aquifers in the area. <br /> Pritcher Drilling Company, has been retained by Nestle Beverage <br /> to drill these monitoring wells, and they are being provided with <br /> engineering and hydrogeological expertise by the consulting firm <br /> of Camp Dresser and McKee. Both of these firms carry all <br /> appropriate insurance coverage for this type of work. <br /> These monitoring wells will be located at the Simpson Paper Co. <br /> property at 942 S. Stockton St. , Ripon, CA, at the location where <br /> power line road intercepts the west boundary fence. They will be <br /> drilled to a depth of 180 feet and 240 feet respectively, and <br /> will be finished off flush to the ground. Each well will be <br /> locked to prevent unauthorized access. Water samples collected <br /> from these wells will be analyzed by EPA methods with specific <br /> emphasis on determination of concentration of: trichloroethylene, <br /> 1, 1, 1-trichloroethane, trans-1, 2-dichloroethylene, and vinyl <br /> chloride. In addition, water level measurement will also be <br /> taken. <br /> Copies of all well drilling/logging data and analytical results <br /> that are submitted to the CVRWQCB will also be forwarded to you <br /> upon request. <br /> Nestle Beverage agrees to indemnify you from any loss or expense <br /> arising out of drilling, operating, and maintaining of these <br /> monitoring .wells on your Ripon property, as contemplated by this <br /> letter. <br /> Please acknowledge your approval for Pritcher Drilling Co./CDM to <br /> install the above referenced monitoring wells on your property by <br />
