Development Application
Property: Special Circumstances
The location of the property where we propose to do groundwater cleanup is
shown on Drawing IA, Lot #25 & Lot #26. This request for permission to
install equipment to provide remediation of contaminated groundwater and soils
could employ several technologies to reach the desired level of cleanup. All
of the technologies we are proposing have been used succesfully to reduce
contaminant levels of Trichloroethylene at our 230 Industrial Avenue location.
The cleanup processes will be housed inside the existing building and another
small shed if needed near the wells. The entire property will be fenced with
a 6' high cyclone fence. Utility lines will also be brought in for electricity,
city water, and city sewer as shown on attached plot plan. The existing
monitoring wells are shown on the plot plan (Drawing #1) , as well as M-8B,
M-8A, M8-C, M8-D from shallow to deep, respectively. To further under-
stand relationship of wells, see the attached drawing (Drawing #2) .
Labeled "Monitoring Wells M-8", the shallow well M-8B is the most contaminated.
Wells M-8A and M-8C1 have some contamination and will require treatment also.
Well M-8D, the deepest well, shows no contamination and will probably not
require any treatment. It is possible that other wells might have to be
drilled to treat all the contamination in the area, particularly in the shallow
most contaminated zone.
