Nestle USA, Inc., Ripon, California March 31, 2011
2010 Annual Report
3 GROUNDWATER MONITORING
The groundwater monitoring program includes gauging groundwater elevations, and collecting
and analyzing water samples for COCs as per the MRP. Monitoring wells installed after
November 2009, which are not listed in the MRP, are sampled on a quarterly basis. The
following sections summarize the field and laboratory data collected during 2010, and present
data analysis and trends in groundwater flow direction and COCs impacts. The table below can
be used as a reference for the well construction information, tabulated quarterly water level
data, and the water quality data summaries presented in this report.
Table Number Reference
1 Well construction information
2 Water level data
3.1 Upper Aquifer extraction wells and monitoring wells installed by
Nestle
3.2 Intermediate Aquifer extraction wells and monitoring wells installed
by Nestle
3.3 Lower Aquifer monitoring wells installed by Nestle
4 City of Ripon production wells
5 Former Neenah Paper Company (now Diamond Pet Food
Processors of Ripon, LLC) monitoring and production wells, Phase
1 domestic wells south of the Stanislaus River, private wells in
Ripon, and school wells.
6 Field parameter data for monitored wells
A summary of historic groundwater analytical data from 1986 through 2010 for groundwater
monitoring wells within the Study Area appears in Appendix B in tabular form. Appendix C
contains hydro-chemo-graphs showing groundwater elevations, TCE, VC, and cis-1,2-DCE
concentrations versus time for each monitoring well installed by Nestle.
Figure 3-1 through Figure 5-4 show estimated groundwater elevations for the Study Area
based on measurements from monitoring wells, municipal production wells, and groundwater
extraction wells used for remediation and hydraulic control. Figure 6 through Figure 8 present
the distribution of CDCs throughout the Study Area in 2010 and Figure 9 through Figure 11
graphically present a five-year history of water quality data for comparison of plume stability.
7
