MOHR-FRY Ranches
950 Industrial Drive, Stockton, Calfbrnia June 2, 1993
Phase ll Remedial Report Page: 9
At this time contaminants are perched at the capillary fringe and have not migrated into
the water table. Table 2 shows that water samples from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-
2 and MW-3 were "non detect" for all compounds analyzed. The source of Xylene at
fifty feet in drill hole MW-1 (Figure 5) is unknown. To determine the source and to
investigate the possibility of contaminants from other areas of the site, or possible off-
site (from the west), WRF recommends drilling two (2) holes. One should be near the
west fence, approximately 65 feet south of MW-1 and 78 feet southwest of MW-3.
The second drill hole should be approximately 65 feet south of MW-3 and 70 feet
southeast of the first proposed drill hole.
' WHF also proposes to closely examine the surface of the site south of the buildings for
any possible surface depressions from excavations to bury or dump possible sources of
contaminants. Past uses of the site have been for painting of hardware under a
military contract. It is possible that there are other sources of contamination
influencing the area of MW-1 and MW-3.
IThe above represents our best professional opinion as to environmental conditions at
this site. These opinions were derived using data at hand, and using standards of care
common to the environmental consulting community in Northern California. Additional
work or sampling at this site may generate data that could lead to a change of opinion
regarding site conditions or appropriate site remediation procedures, or both.
Mid ael J.
