SECOR <br /> • International Incorporated <br /> February 28, 2002 <br /> Project 77CH 43448 00 0370 ID C ' V 1�J FD <br /> Ms Devra Lewis ►�tl L� <br /> California Regional Water Quality Control Board MAR 0 4 2002 <br /> Central Valley Region ENVIRONMENT HEALTH <br /> 3443 Routier Road, Suite A PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> Sacramento, CA 95827 <br /> RE: Pilot Study Monthly Status Report <br /> Chevron Fuel Terminal#1001621 <br /> 22888 Kasson Road <br /> Banta, California <br /> Dear Ms Lewis <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) on behalf of Chevron Products Company <br /> (Chevron) presents this Pilot Study Status Report for the subject site, (Figure 1) This Pilot <br /> Study Status Report is in response to a letter from the California Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board - Central Valley Region (CRWQCB-CVR) dated July 12, 2001 <br /> This Status Report includes a beef discussion of site background, discussion of ISO-GEN <br /> system performance and maintenance, and sampling and weekly monitoring results and <br /> discussion of monitoring results for the Reporting Period of December 28, 2001 through <br /> January 24, 2002. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located approximately 5 miles east of Tracy, in the agncultural community of <br /> Banta,California The active fuel terminal on site has been in operation since 1966 and <br /> consists of nine aboveground fuel storage tanks, tank-truck loading racks, above-and below- <br /> ground piping, holding ponds, and buildings including an office The tank farm is enclosed <br /> by a 3-foot high secondary containment berm Fuel lines from the fuel storage tanks run <br /> above ground within the secondary containment area The fuel lines run below ground <br /> between the secondary containment area and the tank-truck loading racks under the paved <br /> portion of the terminal Plate 1 provides the site layout and locations of monitoring wells and <br /> ISO-GEN remediation wells <br /> The San Joaquin Groundwater Basin underlies the site Beneficial uses of groundwater in the <br /> area include municipal, domestic, irrigation, stock watering, process, and service supply A <br /> discussion of the site investigation history is included in Attachment A <br /> The Banta Terminal is currently under regulatory orders of the CRWQCB-CVR including <br /> Cleanup and Abatement Order(CAO) 94-715 dated October 28, 1994 and Monitoring and <br /> Reporting Program 94-811 dated July 15, 1994 <br /> 3017 Kilgore Road, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916 861 0400 916 861 0430 Fax www secor com <br />
