PACIFIC <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> GROUP, INC <br /> ¢ ' 1til <br /> ' AN®CAivgAM <br /> ' July 30, 1998 <br /> Project 920-002 2D <br /> Ms Gail Wiggett - MRP <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> ' Central Valley Region <br /> 3443 Routier Road, Suite A <br /> Sacramento, California 95827 <br /> Re Second Quarter 1998 Self Monitoring g P Program Report <br /> Chevron Fuel Terminal 1001621 <br /> 22888 South Kasson Road at Interstate 5 <br /> Banta, California <br /> Dear Ms Wiggett <br /> ■ On behalf of Chevron Products Company(Chevron), Pacific Environmental Group, Inc <br /> (PEG)has prepared this quarterly report in order to satisfy the regulatory requirements <br /> associated with monitoring and remediation of the site referenced above (Figure 1) The <br /> requirements are set forth in the California Regional Water Quality Control Board - Central <br /> Valley Region's (CRWQCB-CVR) Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP)No 94-811 <br /> This report summarizes groundwater self monitoring and related activities for the second <br /> quarter 1998 <br /> GROUNDWATER GRADIENT <br /> Groundwater flow was to the north and northeast during this quarter with a gradient of <br /> approximately 0 003 ft/ft A groundwater elevation contour map for May 26, 1998 is <br /> included as Figure 1 Groundwater flow has historically been to the north to northeast, with <br /> gradients ranging from approximately 0 003 to 0 007 ft/ft <br /> GROUNDWATER QUALITY DATA <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from 26 wells on May 26, 1998 PEG was again unable <br /> ' to locate Well MW-9 during the second quarter sampling event Attempts are being made to <br /> sample and remove the stockpiled soils covering this well prior to the third quarter sampling <br /> event Groundwater samples were analyzed for the presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> calculated as gasoline (TPH-g), total petroleum hydrocarbons calculated as diesel (TPH-d), <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX compounds) The depth to water and <br /> SPH thickness were gauged in each well Groundwater elevation and analytical data are <br /> 14 <br /> 11315 Sunrise Gold Circle, Suite M Rancho Cordova,California 95742-6534 (916) $58-2350 FAX (916) 858-2355 <br />
