Two underground
storage tanks (USTs) and the associated dispensers were located on the west side of the site. The
USTs are located under the sidewalk along Hunter Street, and the dispensers are located just east
of the tanks, inside the building. The USTs and dispensers are no longer in use. The northern
tank (ID # PWGGET) has been out of service since the 1970's, and the southern tank (ID #
PWGGUL) has just recently been taken out of service. It is unknown whether the tanks were
I
installed before or after the building was constructed.
At this time, the county is not using this site as a garage. The future intended use of the site is
unknown. The County intends to remove the two tanks according to San Joaquin County Public
Health Service's guidelines. This report presents the results of Kleinfelder's Environmental and
Geotechnical Assessment of the proposed Tank Excavation at the San Joaquin County Garage,
LIncluded as Appendix F is the tank removal and sampling workplan.
I '
I
r
r
I
ETH Md 7EI94
Copyright 1994 Kleinfelder, Inc.
