SECTION 6 <br /> HAZARD COMMUNICATION <br /> HAZARDS OF GASOLINE <br /> According to the attached MSDS,overexposure to gasoline may cause mild irritation or stinging or <br /> redness of the eyes Gasoline can cause mild i mtation to the skin Inhalation of heavy fumes can <br /> cause headaches and nausea Ingestion of contaminated dirt with gasoline can cause irritation to the <br /> intestines <br /> HAZARDS OF BENZENE <br /> Eye contact with benzene causes irritation Contact with the skin will cause irritation and may cause <br /> drying or itching Ingestion of benzene can cause severe lung injury and irritation Symptoms are <br /> coughing and difficulty breathing A symptom of overexposure would be headaches, dizziness and <br /> nausea Benzene is a known carcinogen <br /> HAZARDS OF LEAD <br /> Elemental lead can cause dizziness and nausea if inhaled or ingested Lead is such a small <br /> constituent of gasoline it is not considered a serious potential health risk on this project Elemental <br /> lead was found in soil samples above the detection limit on the surface soil samples This is not <br /> generally associated with an inhalation hazard but is more commonly thought of as a dermal hazard <br /> when eating or smoking <br /> Health and Safety Plan for F&H Construction <br /> 130 North Hunter St, Stockton, CA <br /> Pq- 1 G <br />
