1
1 Fourth Quarter/Annual
2008 Groundwater
1 ARCADiS Monitoring Report
Chevron Bulk Fuel Terminal
100-1621
1 22888 Kasson Road
Banta, California
when the screen is not completely submerged.Vertical hydraulic gradient calculations
1 provide a means to evaluate whether groundwater flow has a potential for movement
either downward or upward through geologic media.
1 Vertical hydraulic gradient calculations were performed for seven monitoring well pairs
(MW-68A/MW-65B, MW-49A/MW-12B, MW-50A/MW-50B, MW-61 UA/MW-65A,
MW-62UA/MW-63A, MW-39UA/MW-7A and MW-3UA/MW-22B). Data from the Fourth
1 Quarter 2008 Monitoring and Sampling Event indicate the vertical hydraulic gradients
from the A to B Zone and from the Upper A to B Zone are downward(recharging)with
average values of-0.036 Wit and-0.028 Wit, respectively.
1 The average vertical hydraulic gradient from the Upper A to A Zone during the fourth
quarter of 2008 was 0.003 Wit, indicating an upward flow between the two zones.A
1 summary table of vertical hydraulic gradient calculations is presented as Table 4 of this
report.
1 Groundwater Chemistry
The analytical test results from samples collected during the Fourth Quarter 2008
1 Monitoring and Sampling Event and the post-development groundwater samples
collected from the newly installed monitoring wells are summarized in Table 1. Field
data sheets, including dissolved oxygen and oxygen reduction potential
measurements, are included in Appendix A. Historical monitoring and sampling data is
1 included in Appendix D.Analytical reports and chain-of-custody records are presented
in Appendix E. A summary of fourth quarter 2008 data is presented below.
1
1
i
1
1
1
1 8of17
