' Fourth Quarter/Annual <br /> 2008 Groundwater <br /> ARCADIS Monitoring Report <br /> Chevron Bulk Fuel Terminal <br /> 100-1621 <br /> 22888 Kasson Road <br /> ' Banta, California <br /> Quarter)and November 5 to 6(Fourth Quarter). Reports documenting the results of the <br /> First, Second and Thins Quarter 2008 Monitoring and Sampling Events are dated April <br /> 29,July 25 and October 30,2008, respectively. <br /> ' Monitoring Well Installations <br /> Between October 1 and December 8,2008 ARCADIS supervised Cascade Drilling, <br /> Inc.(Cascade)in the installation of 24 monitoring wells: MW-70UA through MW-75UA, <br /> MW-70A through MW-75A, MW-70B through MW-75B, MW-78UA, MW-78A, MW-78B, <br /> MW-79UA, MW-79A and MW-79B.The wells were installed in their respective water <br /> ' bearing zones at varying depths depending on the encountered stratification of the soil. <br /> A full report detailing these installations will be issued under a separate cover. <br /> Offsite Assessment <br /> Between October 20 and 23,2008,Cascade, under the supervision of ARCADIS, <br /> ' advanced 62 offsite soil borings using a hand auger.The results of the offsite <br /> assessment activities were submitted under separate cover entitled 2008 Off-Site <br /> Assessment Report,dated December 19, 2008. In a letter dated January 7,2009,the <br /> California RWCQB staff concurred with Chevron's request to discontinue the annual <br /> ' hand auger offsite assessment in favor monitoring recently installed perimeter wells. <br /> WSW-1 Video Log <br /> ' On February 19,2008,ARCADIS supervised Cascade in the video recording of onsite <br /> water supply well WSW-1.Coupled with field data measurements, the video recording <br /> of WSW-1 revealed that depth to water was approximately 8.5 feet below ground <br /> surface(bgs),the water pump is set at approximately 108 feet bgs and total depth is <br /> approximately 221 feet bgs.The well appeared to be open bottomed with no <br /> ' identifiable screen and a gravel base. <br /> Annual 2008 Evaluation of the Groundwater Oxygenation System <br /> System Performance Results <br /> ' Based on hour-meter readings collected on February 8,2008(18,972 hours)and <br /> December 24,2008(26,274 hours)the groundwater oxygenation system was <br /> approximately 95 percent operable. Downtime was attributed to routine maintenance of <br /> ' the system including the repair of broken vanes within the compressor in February and <br /> 16 of 17 <br />
