<br /> FOR PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING STUDIES,
<br /> RESOURCE STUDIES, AND GEOTECHNICAL SAMPLING
<br /> FOR FOLSOM SOUTH CANAL CONNECTION PROJECT
<br /> For a consideration of$500, permission is granted to East Bay Municipal Utility District ("District")
<br /> for a period between December 1, 1996 through March 31, 1997 to enter in, over, and upon owner's
<br /> land to bore holes and excavate test pits for the purposes of geotechnical field exploration, and from
<br /> December 1, 1996 through December 31, 1997 to enter in, over and upon owner's land for the
<br /> purposes of evaluating the resources present within the project area, including field studies of plants
<br /> and wildlife species to determine possible impacts from project construction and operation.
<br /> Geotechnical sampling will be either bore holes or test pits. The exploration holes will be
<br /> approximately 30-50 feet in depth. Test pits will be approximately eight (8) feet wide, 20 feet long,
<br /> and 15 feet deep. Test pits will be backfilled. After sample collecting is complete, bore holes will
<br /> be backfilled and sealed with grout. Equipment to be used for the exploration includes a truck
<br /> mounted drill rig, a water truck, backhoe and a pick-up truck.
<br /> Resource and engineering studies will consist of wildlife surveys, plant studies, archeological field
<br /> studies, and preliminary engineering studies, including surveying, in connection with the District's
<br /> Initial Study of the Folsom South Canal Connection Project.
<br /> The rights and privileges hereby granted to District may, at the option of the District, be exercised
<br /> by any authorized agent or contractor of District,including but not limited to CH2M Hill and Jones &
<br /> Stokes Associates (and their subconsultants), Olivia Chen Consultants, and Pitcher Drilling.
<br /> District agrees upon the completion of any work hereunder to restore the surface of the ground as
<br /> near as possible to the condition in which it was prior to the commencement of said work.
<br /> It is understood and agreed that the District will leave the premises in a clean and orderly condition
<br /> and will repair, replace, or compensate for any existing improvements that may have been disturbed
<br /> or removed during the course of work.
<br /> Project team members and the project consultant have been thoroughly instructed in proper field
<br /> procedures and conduct. The following rules will be followed:
<br /> • Property owners will be given at least 24 hours' notice by telephone or mail prior to entry..
<br /> • Gates will be left as they were found.
