3.4 Task 4: Waste Disposal Coordination
This task will involve coordinating and disposing of soil cuttings.Soil cuttings (waste)
generated during the drilling activities will be stored in 55-gallon drums. These drums will
be labeled and stored at a location in the project area designated by EBMUD. On the last
day of drilling,a composite soil sample will be submitted under standard turnaround(2
weeks) to the laboratory for analysis of CDCs.CH2M HILL will coordinate and assist
EBMUD with disposal of the soil cuttings at a regulated facility.
3.5 Task 5: Data Evaluation and Report Preparation
Following completion of the field activities and upon receipt of the laboratory analytical
reports,CH2M HILL will prepare a report evaluating the analytical results. Detectable
concentrations of COCs will be summarized in tables. The analytical results will be
compared to the following:
• Waste classification criteria outlined in the CCR
• Acceptance criteria for local solid waste disposal facilities that may receive waste soil
from the proposed construction
The final document will estimate the range of costs to transport and dispose of soil from the
construction limits to an appropriate disposal facility and will provide recommendations, as
necessary.
SFO/FOLSAMPL.DOC 4
