This well was replaced due to damage caused by grass cutting equipment at <br /> the Department of Corrections Deuel Vocational Institution Bum Pit(site) (Figure 1). <br /> ' PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> t • Prepared a site-specific health and safety plan (HASP). <br /> Obtained a well abandonment and installation permit from San Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Department(SJCEHD). <br /> ' • Properly abandoned well MW-23-SP by over-drilling to its total depth of 21 feet below ground <br /> surface (bgs) with 10-inch outside-diameter (OD) hollow-stem augers and backfilling with tremie <br /> grout with a Portland cement grout containing less than 5% bentonite powder to near surface. <br /> ' Surface completions will be completed to match the surrounding ground surface. <br /> Installed replacement well (MW-23R-SP) approximately 10 feet from it original location to 21 feet <br /> bgs using 8-inch OD hollow-stem augers. <br /> ' • Stored wastewater generated during the activities in labeled 55-gallon Department of Transportation <br /> (DOT)-approved steel drums and stored on site, pending disposal.
