Soil
contamination was noted under the 1,000-gallon regular gasoline tank and the 500-gallon
diesel tank by the PHS/EHD inspector witnessing the tank removals. Analytical results from
the soil samples collected beneath the 1,000-gallon tank evidenced hydrocarbon
contamination of 3,100 parts per million (ppm) total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel, 390
ppm xylene and 49 ppm toluene.
In PHS/EHD correspondence dated March 7, 1994 you were notified that contaminant levels
at this site exceed allowable limits and that the site was placed on the list of contaminated
sites in San Joaquin County.
