Kennedy/Jenks Consultants
Appendix B: Groundwater Sampling and Analysis Plan
This Groundwater Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) will be used as a guidance document for
individuals responsible for conducting groundwater monitoring and sampling activities in conjunction
with the Hydrogeologic Investigation Work Plan for the Sutter Home Lodi Winery.
BA Analytical Methods, Sample Containers and Preservatives
For the first several months of 2010, depth to groundwater will be measured monthly in monitoring
wells GW-1 through GW-14, to obtain data on groundwater gradient and velocity. In accordance
with the MRP, samples from groundwater monitoring wells GW-1 through GW-14 will be analyzed
quarterly for ammonia, boron, bromoform, bromodichloromethane, chloride, chloroform,
dibromochloromethane, electrical conductivity, fixed dissolved solids, iron, manganese, nitrate,
sodium, total dissolved solids, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, and total nitrogen. For the first two quarters of
2010, the monitoring well samples will also be analyzed for alkalinity, bicarbonate, calcium,
carbonate, hardness, hydroxide, magnesium and sulfate. Samples from wells DWS-1 through
DWS-3 will be analyzed for nitrate and total dissolved solids for two quarters. Table 6.1 outlines the
analytical methods, associated reporting limits, sample containers and preservatives for these
analyses.
TABLE B.1 — ANALYTICAL PROTOCOLS
Reporting Con- Sample Holding
Constituent Test Method Limit (mg/1) tainer Volume Preservative(') Time
Total Alkalinity as EPA 310.1 1.0 P 250 ml None 14 days
Calcium Carbonate
(CaCO3)
Ammonia(as NH4)
Bicarbonate(HCO3) EPA 310.1 1.0 P 250 ml None 14 days
Boron(B)
Bromoform
Bromodichloromethane
Calcium (Ca) EPA 6010 0.5 P _ 250 ml _ HNO3 pH<2 6 months
Carbonate (CO3) EPA 310.1 1.0 P 250 ml None 14 days
Chloride(Cl) EPA 300.0 0.2 P 250 ml None 28 days
Chloroform
Di bromochloromethan e
Electrical Conductivity EPA 120.1 1 (umhos/cm P 250 ml None 28 days
(EC) (M 25°C)
Fixed Dissolved Solids
(FDS)
Hardness EPA 130.2 3.3 P 250 ml HNO3 6 months
Hydroxide(OH) EPA 310.1 1.0 P 250 ml None 14 days
Iron (Fe)
Magnesium (Mg) EPA 6010 0.5 P 250 ml HNO3 pH<2 6 months
Manganese(Mn)
Nitrate-Nitrogen EPA 300.0 0.1 P 250 ml None 48 hours
(NO3 as N)
pH EPA 0.1 unit P 250 ml None 24 hours
9040B/9045C
Sodium (Na) EPA 6010 0.5 P 250 ml HNO3 pH<2 6 months
Hydrogeologic Investigation and Groundwater Sampling and Analysis Work Plan B-1
Sutter Home Lodi Winery, Lodi, California
gtifyrwpletlmN4ablg6g6660g5.06_rvlhrhana109+epart51w9 WkSAWyh x P1W4ppentlics ppb .0.pp,&-b .p,tl
