Due to the holiday, we will be bending the rules a little (no borings left
open overnight) but due to the shallow depths and the lack of known contamination, I will allow it in this case.
What time do you want the inspection on Tuesday?
Call me, (209) 601-0429.
Johnny
From: Mike McLeod [mailto:MikeMcLeod(cbKennedVenks.com]
Sent: Thursday, January 17, 2013 8:48 AM
To: John Yoakum [EH]
Cc: Meredith Durant
Subject: RE: SJ Co. said to call you re: inspection time
John,
First, a refinement on our sampling methods:We are sampling seven fields, with two borings in each field. However we
will only get a water sample from one boring per field. So,seven borings will be to about 4 ft., for soil sample only, and
seven borings will be to—7-10 feet,to get a water sample. It will take Monday and Tuesday.
Could we leave Monday's borings open and seal them on Tuesday? The 4-footers ought to stay open.We can leave the
PVC sampling pipe in the groundwater sampling borings overnight.Tuesday we could pour cement into the PVC to
cement the lower portion of the borehole, and yank the pipe out and seal the top. I drove a stake at each location so
there'll be no trouble finding each one.
1
