Install one 4-inch diameter dual phase extraction PPE) well to approximately 40
feet below surface grade (bsg) west of existing monitoring well MW-3 (on the
sidewalk of Hunter Street) ,
B . Perform a 5-day vapor/liquid dual phase extraction pilot test for potential interim
remediation, by using an aspirated stinger in the DPE well and a blower extraction
system. Existing MW1 to MW-4 will be used as monitoring points for the pilot test.
1 . Extracted vapors will be treated using internal combustion (IC), catalytic,
thermal oxidation, or by carbon filtration.
2. Extracted groundwater may either be stored in a temporary holding tank and
treated on site before discharge to City of Stockton sanitary sewer system, or
be transported off site to a properly licensed accepting facility for disposal.
C. Advance 2 pairs of cone penetrometer (CPT) borings to approximately 125 feet bsg
to define the vertical extent of the contamination and to profile the geology. Grab
groundwater samples will be collected at depths based on field data.
1 . Advance one CPT boring at approximately 15 feet south of MW-3
2. Advance one CPT boring at approximately 80 feet northeast (down gradient
direction) of MW-3 on either the sidewalk or the parking lane.
3. Each CPT boring will be paired with a separate boring to minunize potential
cross-contamination during the collection of grab groundwater samples to
define the vertical definition of the groundwater plume.
