HUNTER ST,
STOCKTON CA 95269
i
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed "Preliminary Investigation and
Evaluation Report," dated March 20, 2002, prepared by Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. on your behalf.
The lateral and vertical extent of soil and groundwater contamination remains undefined by this scope of
work. Analysis of grab groundwater samples show total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) as
high as 5,400,000 micrograms per liter and benzene as high as 210,000 micrograms per liter. Groundwater
contamination of this extent warrants an extensive well network and possible interim remedial action.
A work plan to define the lateral and vertical extent of soil and groundwater contamination, installation of
monitoring wells, and a complete well and conduit survey, should be submitted to EHD by May 28,2002.
Please contact Sam Savig, EHS at (209) 468-3453 if you have questions regarding this letter.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Sam Savig, EHS Margaret gono, REH
Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor LOP/Unit IV
cc: Marty Hartzell-CVRWQCB
Brian Millman-Advanced GeoEnvirontnental, Inc.
i
i
i
