The
CUF recommends that the EHD direct the responsible Party (RP) to consider a more aggressive
remedial technology that will more rapidly achieve water quality objectives (WQOs).
The site is undergoing dual phase extraction (DPE) at this time. The CUF estimated the mass
recovery rate at 2 pounds per day; the EHD estimates it at slightly over 20 pounds per day.
Considering site conditions and plume distribution , the EHD is of the opinion that not much more
can reasonably be implemented at the site; however, the EHD will direct the RP to evaluate the
effectiveness of the current remedial technology, the potential benefit of installing additional
DPE wells, or implementing additional remediation technologies . Questions or comments should
be directed to Harlin Knoll at (209) 468-3442 or to Nuel Henderson at (209) 468-3436 .
Sincerely,
7411
Harlin Knoll , REHS Nuel Henderson , PG
Senior Registered Environmental Engineering Geologist
Health Specialist
Annual 5-Year Review Update Response 2010. doc
