15 November 2005
AGE-NC Project No 01-0877
' at lesser concentrations than the TPH-g values, ranging from 22,000 µg/1 in sample MW-4 to
110,000 µg/1 in sample MW-2
BTEX compounds were detected in water samples collected from all wells, the maximum
concentrations were 77,000 gg/1 benzene (MW-3), 74,000 µg/1 toluene (MW-3), 5,000 µg/1
ethylbenzene (MW-1), and 24,200 gg/l total xylenes (MW-1)
' 1,2-DCA was detected in the water samples collected from all wells at a maximum concentration
of 330 gg/1 (MW-1) No other target analytes were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits
in the ground water samples analyzed
Concentration maps depicting the approximate distribution of dissolved TPH-g and benzene are
' presented in Figures 4 and 5, respectively The analytical results of ground water samples collected
on 22 July 2005 are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory report (CTEL Project No CT214-
0507143),quality assurance/quality control(QA/QC)report,and chain of custody forms are included
' in Appendix C Documents confirming the upload of laboratory electronic deliverable format(EDF)
files and depth to water measurements to GeoTracker are Included in Appendix D
• 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
• During the July 2005 monitoring event, the average ground water elevation at the site was
15 92 feet below MSL The ground water flow was inferred to be toward the northeast under
a gradient of approximately 0 003 foot/foot (Figure 3)
' 0 High concentrations of TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected in all water samples
collected during the third quarter 2005 with a maximum concentration of TPH-g at
' 470,000 µg/l (MW-3) and benzene at 77,000 gg/l (MW-3) 1,2-DCA was detected in the
water samples collected from all wells at a maximum concentration of 330 gg/l (MW-1)
• The fuel additives MTBE, EDB, TAME, TBA, DIPE and ETBE were not detected this
quarter in any of the ground water samples
• The highest concentrations of contaminants were detected near the area of wells MW-1 and
MW-3 These locations correspond to the location of the former UST#3,one of the possible
mayor release point(s) of the UST system
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc
I
