04 March 2005
AGE-NC Project No 01-0877
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based n he findings of this investigation, AGE recommends
o t g g ,
• Continued quarterly ground water monitoring at the site The first quarter monitoring event
was performed in January 2005
• The vertical extent of ground water and saturated soil contamination should be fully defined
with a multilevel monitoring well network at the former UST area prior to any additional
shallow, lateral assessment off the site Based on the age of the UST release(s),the type of
chlorinated contamination detected at the site, and the overall high concentrations of
contaminants in ground water remaining at the site, it is likely that the R M B releases have
migrated vertically to great depths near the release point
• The increasing dissolved contaminate concentrations combined with the steadily decreasing
ground water elevation has Indicated the occurrence of a significant mass of hydrocarbon is
present in soil at the water table level This Impacted zone should be mitigated through soil
vapor extraction to prevent additional hydrocarbon desorption into the mechanism of off-site
Ile migration, a northeast flowing ground water table
• The removal of TPH-mo analysis from the quarterly ground water monitoring schedule of
analytes, as it has gone undetected for five consecutive monitoring events
I
I6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the hydrogeologic conditions
at the site for the purpose of this Investigation was made from a limited number of available data
points(e g ground water samples)and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points
No other warranty, expressed or implied,is made as to the professional Interpretations, opinions, and
recommendations contained in this report
1
I
IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
