l
1 '
. 28 June 2004
AGE-NC Project No 01-0877
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
I
TPH-g was detected in all ground water samples at concentrations ranging from 56,000 micrograms-
1 per liter(µg/1)in sample MW-4 to 91,000 µg/1 in sample MW-3 BTEX compounds were detected
in water samples collected from all wells, benzene was detected at concentrations of 33,000 µg/1,
23,000 µg/l, 48,000 µg/1 and 300 µg/1, respectively
' 1,2-DCA and EDB were detected in the ground water samples collected from wells MW-1 through
MW-4,with the exception of EDB in well MW-4,at maximum concentrations of 110 jig/] (MW-2)
and 74 µg/l (MW-1), respectively `
Concentration maps depicting the approximate distribution of dissolved TPH-g and benzene are
' presented in Figures 4 and 5, respectively No other target analytes were detected at or above
laboratory detection limits in the ground water samples analyzed The analytical 'results of ground
water samples collected on 14 January 2004 are summarized in Table 3 The laboratory report
(CTEL Project No CT214-0401073), QA/QC report and chain-of-custody form are included in
Appendix D
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
• During First Quarter 2004, the average ground water elevation at the site was 17 23 feet
' below MSL Ground water flow was inferred to be towards the northeast under a gradient of
0 003 ft/ft
' a High concentrations of TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected in all monitoring wells
during the first quarter 2004 The highest concentrations of contamination was detected near
the area of well MW-1 and MW-3,near the site These locations correspond to the location
' of the former UST #3, one the possible mayor release point(s) of the UST system
• In addition, 1,2-DCA and EDB were detected in wells MW-1 through MW-4, with the r
exception of EDB in well MW-4,up-gradient ofthe release area,at maximum concentrations
of 110 µg/l (MW-2) and 74 µg/1 (MW-1), respectively
Y
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
r ,
1
