niv r I Waste
U e sa
• Batteries (does not include vehicle batteries) must go into a sealed two (2) or five (5) gallon
bucket and be affixed with a completed universal waste label identified as "Waste-Batteries".
• The accumulation start date is the date the first battery goes in the bucket, not when the
bucket is filled completely.
• There is no separate log for universal waste. Hazardous waste accumulation logs are to be
used to record this information. List on the log as "universal waste" so that it is not mistaken
as hazardous waste.
• The store has 12 months from the first date of accumulation to have universal waste picked
up. Contact the EH&S department at Hurst to arrange pickup. Local waste drop off sites can
also be used if applicable to the area.
• Electronic waste can be taken to a local drop off site for disposal. Check with the Kelly-Moore
Service Center before doing this. ELECTRONIC WASTE CANNOT BE THROWN IN THE TRASH.
