The proposed work was completed on
August 30, 1999, but the well survey has not been conducted to date.
Conduct a survey of all wells within a 2000 foot radius on the site by March 15, 2000. All wells
identified in the survey and the location/addresses on a map along with any known construction details
of the wells should be provided to PHS/EHD. Include the well survey in the March quarterly
monitoring report.
The lateral and vertical extent of the groundwater contamination has not been defined. Given the
highly mobile and resilient nature of MTBE,there is urgency in the investigation and corrective action
of the contamination at this site to prevent migration of the contamination and potential impact to local
drinking water wells. Submit a workplan that will define the lateral and vertical extent of the
groundwater contamination to PHS/EHD no later than April 20, 2000.
If you have any questions, please contact Jeffrey Wong at (209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran,REHS,Director
Environmental Health Division
Jeffrey Wong, REHS TeREHS
J y g
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
C: RWQCB, Central Valley Region-Marty Hartzell
C: WHF,Inc. -Bill Fox
