Main Street
Manteca, CA 95336
Dear Mr. Wong,
Please find enclosed one (1) copy of the Work Plan for Lateral and Vertical Extent of
Contamination, Addendum for Boyett Petroleum, 419 S. Main Street, Manteca, California.
WHF would like to inform you that the Well Survey can not be completed by the June 5, 1999
date set by your office. All work to be performed regarding this site must go through the bid
process and State pre-approval prior to commencement of work. The time frame for this process
is approximately 60-90 days. If approval to commence work is granted to WHF, the Well Survey
will be completed in a timely fashion.
WIN will perform the soil sampling at each significantly different soil phase change, but we
request your suggestion as to how the lithologic phase changes in the subsurface materials are to
be determined. In many cases the phase changes are mixed once the soil cuttings reach the
surface, or top of the auger, used in the drilling process. It is very difficult or impossible to
determine phase change locations by examining the cuttings brought to the surface by the auger.
Thank you for your time and suggestions regarding this matter. If you have any questions or
comments please feel free to contact our office.
Sincerely,
Jason P. Cashman, M.E.M.
WHF, Inc., Environmental and Engineering Group
cc: Boyett Petroleum-Dale Boyett
