Such a professional did not review the conclusion
presented in this letter. For clarification, a recent letter from the California State Board
for Geologists and Geophysicists and the California Office of Environmental Health
Hazard Assessment is attached. The letter describes what activities may be considered
the "practice of geology" and may not be conducted by Registered Environmental
Assessors unless they are also Registered Geologists. !
• In a letter dated November 27, 2000,PHS/EHD directed the installation of four
shallow monitoring wells'to investigate the lateral extent of the contamination.and a
deep monitoring well that will determine the vertical extent of the contamination in 1
ground water by December 25, 2000. Four monitoring wells were installed in December
2000, but the deep monitoring well has not been installed to date. The vertical extent of
the contamination has not been defined. Install the deep monitoring well that will define
the vertical extent of the contamination by April 25, 2001.
If you have any questions, please contact Jeffrey Wong at (209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran,REHS, Director
Enviro ntal Health Division
Jeffrey Wong, REHS Dot Lofstrom,R.G.
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
C: RWQCB, Central Valley Region-Marty Hartzell
C WHF,Inc.- Bill Fox
