Boyea Petroleum June 29, 2001
419 South Main Street, Manteca, California Page 9
' FinaI Report of Findings for Lateral
Extent of Groundwater Contamination
9.0 Recommendations
Based on the conclusions developed during this investigation, WHF, Inc., recommends the
' following actions:
+ Continue four (4) quarters of monitoring to observe the groundwater direction and
' gradient and to evaluate the potential for natural biological attenuation of the
contaminates.
+ Install one additional monitoring well directly east of the fuel island, in the upgradient
direction, to determine the source of the MTBE contamination. Currently the
groundwater gradient is west-northwest. MW-1 and MW-7 are in the downgradient
direction and have shown significant MTBE contamination levels in the groundwater
samples.
+ No remedial action be taken at this site until the source is identified as an on-site or
off-site source.
10.0 Limitations
Ile The above represents our best professional opinion as to environmental conditions at this
site. These opinions were derived using data at hand, and using standards of care common
to the environmental consulting community in Northern California. Additional work or
sampling at this site may generate data that could lead to a change of opinion regarding
site conditions or appropriate site remediation procedures, or both.
Prepared by:
I
No.00620
Expires:,lune 30,2009-
W.
00 W.
