r
' Boyett Petroleum January 15, 2001
419 South Main Street, Manteca, California Page 8
Interim Report of Findings far Lateral
Extent of Groundwater Contamination
' 6.1 Local Hydrology
Groundwater was encountered during this drilling event at approximately seventeen
' feet (17') below ground level (b.g.l). The December, 2000 Quarterly Monitoring
Report will provide the historical gradient maps and the December groundwater
gradient map and will also include the groundwater analytical data.
1
' 7.0 Conclusions
Based on the data developed during this scope of work, the following conclusions have
' been made:
• In the soil samples taken from the four (4) soil borings, no contamination was found.
Further investigation of the site will need to be conducted, which will include the Cone
Penetrometer Technology (CPT), and the installation of the deep well extending below
the groundwater table, following the results of the CPT test. These results will be
' included in a Report of Findings for the Lateral Extent of Groundwater Contamination
in accordance with the Work Plan (Addendum) Lateral Extent of Groundwater
Contamination dated, May 18, 2000 and the letter from Mr. Jeffrey Wong of San
Joaquin County Public Health Services dated November 27, 2000.
' 8.0 Recommendations
Based on the conclusions developed during this investigation, WHF, Inc., recommends the
following actions:
• Continue four (4) quarters of monitoring to observe the groundwater direction and
gradient and to evaluate the potential for natural biological attenuation of the
contaminates.
' • Conduct the CPT on the site, as well as the installation of a deep well, following the
results of the CPT test.
1
1
lei
i
1
