SCOPE OF WORK
WEST LINDSAY/NORTH MADISON PROPERTY
STOCKTON CALIFORNIA
The subject property is located in the City of Stockton on an undeveloped parcel north of the
Stockton Deep Water Channel and south of West Lindsay Street between Van Buren and North
Madison Streets. Reportedly, it was formerly a delta island reclaimed in the 1920's with fill and
dredge materials. Various historic activities associated with ship building and repair work have
been proposed as sources of soil and groundwater contamination at the site.
Previous environmental site characterization studies were performed in 1989, 1992, 1993, and
1995 . These studies documented the presence of soil and groundwater contamination by
hydrocarbons and metals.
PROPOSED FIELD PROGRAM
We propose the following field sampling program for the site:
1. Obtain approximately 30 additional shallow (5 to 10 feet below ground surface) soil
samples via hollow-stem auger from 15 locations across the site and analyze for
appropriate chemicals. Samples will be collected using a split-spoon sampler lined with 6-
inch stainless steel tubes.
2. Abandon all the borings by grouting to the ground surface. Drum all soil generated
during drilling and store on site until lab results have been received and proper disposal is
determined.
