Following evaluation of soil gas survey results and
preparation of a work plan for verification sampling, the soil and ground-water sampling
activities summarized in the report were conducted by LSCE in July 1993.
We appreciate your agreeing to meet with the City of Stockton and the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department to discuss the results of the recent investigation. The City is
very interested in exploring alternatives available to facilitate the development of the site,
particularly the eastern portion of the parcel. Furthermore, the City recognizes that additional
site characterization will be required if the Regional Board approves and the City pursues
mitigation of site conditions as somewhat independent efforts on the eastern and western
portions of the parcel.
