ATTACHMENT V EPA COMMENTS ON THE DRAFT COMPREHENSIVE DATA MANAGEMENT PLAN (APPENDIX C) WORK PLAN (JAN-92) FOR DDRW-TRACY GENERAL COMMENT The data management plan is thorough, but DLA should consider expanding its database in the area of quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) information, depending on future needs for the archived QC data. SPECIFIC COMMENTS 1. Table C. 3-1, Project File Organization System for the Comprehensive RI/FS at DDRW-Tracy; Section 4.3, Field Investigation Data Collection Records: It is recommended that additional categories be provided under Section 4 . 3 . 2, Field Records, to clarify what information will be stored in these records. 2 . Table C. 3-1, Project File Organization System for the Comprehensive RI/FS at DDRW-Tracy; Section 4. 4, Analytical Results and Data Validation Record: It is recommended that this section be organized by addition of subsections under the main section headings. These subsections should be method specific and should in turn include subsections for the various types of data that will be generated for each method. 3 . Section 5. 0, QA/QC: It is recommended that any performance sample or inter-laboratory sample analysis data be stored in this section. Laboratory or field QC data could be stored here or with the analytical results section. 4 . Figure C.4-1, Database Structure for the Comprehensive RI/FS at DDRW-Tracy: The database structure appears to have no provision for maintenance of QC data. QC information related to precision and accuracy measurements, data quality objectives, and other QA/QC indicators should be included in the database. 5.
