9000562C, Page 5 <br /> B.5 SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS <br /> B.5.1 Drilling and Soil Sampling <br /> B.5.1.1 Personnel engaged in drilling and soil sampling operations shall wear the <br /> following personal protective equipment: <br /> Uncoated Tyvek coveralls (for drilling and sampling dry soil and rock) <br /> Coated Tyvek coveralls (Saranex or Poly-coated) if highly contaminated or wet soil <br /> is encountered <br /> Nitrile or neoprene gloves <br /> Rubber/neoprene boots or leather boots with rubber boot covers <br /> Eye protection <br /> Hard hat <br /> Hearing protection. Hearing protection shall be worn when noise levels exceed 85 <br /> dBA. If verbal communications with a person two feet away requires one <br /> to raise his/her voice to be heard, the level of background noise will <br /> usually be greater than 85 dBA. <br /> Half- or full-face respirators shall be available for immediate donning if the action <br /> levels are reached. Section B.5.2, Air Monitoring, defines the action <br /> levels. <br /> B.5.1.2 Personnel engaged in groundwater sampling operations shall wear the <br /> following personal protective equipment: <br /> Tyvek coverall with splash apron (Poly- or Saranex-coated Tyvek may be worn <br /> instead of uncoated Tyvek with splash apron) <br /> Splash shield <br /> Nitrile or neoprene gloves <br /> Rubber/neoprene boots or leather boots with rubber boot covers <br /> Half- or full-face respirators shall be available for immediate donning if the action <br /> levels are reached. Section B.5.2, Air Monitoring,defines the action levels. <br />
