PRE-TANK REPLAMIENT Site Assessment Work Plan <br /> —� 420 NEST KETTLENAN LANE,LODI, CA. <br /> Aegis Project No. 84.013 <br /> Page T <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This workplan describes the planned pre-tank replacement site <br /> assessment at a Shell Oil Company (shell) retail gasoline station <br /> ! located at 420 West Kettleman Lane Lodi, San Joaquin County, <br /> California (Figure 1) , This work plan was requested by Shell in <br /> preparation for the replacement of underground fuel-storage-tanks <br /> located at the site. <br /> 1.1 Pur ose <br /> The purpose .of the investigation is to: <br /> o characterize the site geologic and hydrogeologic conditions. <br /> o Assess the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons (if any) in the <br /> soil beneath the site. . <br /> a Verify the soil conditions at the location of the new underground <br /> fuel-storage-tank cluster location. <br /> - <br /> .J o �. <br /> Evaluate the need for further assessment and /or mitigation .of <br /> petroleum constituents in soil and ground water beneath the <br /> prior to the tank closure/replacement, site, <br /> -J A detailed work plan is <br /> summarized below. presented in .section 3.0. The scope of work is <br /> j O Drill four sail borings to an estimated maximum depth of 20 feet <br /> below grade in the area of the existing underground fuel storage <br /> tanks. <br /> O Drill eight soil borings to estimated maximum depths of 20 feet <br /> } below grade at the location of the replacement underground fuel <br /> 3 storage tanks. <br /> o Drill four soil borings to estimated depths of to feet below <br /> grade around the two pump islands to asses thecondition 'of the <br /> existing product lines. ;1 <br /> x o Recover from each of the borings representative soil samples at <br /> } five-foot intervals. <br /> --------- ------- - <br /> O Classify the. recovered soil samples according,;to the Unified Soil <br /> Classification System. <br />
