PRE-TANK REPLACEMENT Site Assessment Results <br /> 420 WEST KETTLEHAN LAN"e,LODI, CA. <br /> Aegis Project No. 84-013 <br /> Page 1 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Aegis Environmental Consultants (Aegis) is hereby submitting the <br /> results of a pre-tank replacement site assessment conducted at the <br /> Shell retail service station located at 420 W. Kettlement Lane, Lodi, <br /> J. San Joaquin County, CA. The San Joaquin County assessor's parcel <br /> number for the site is 062-02-0f (figure 1) . The purpose of the site- <br /> assessment was to assess subsurface conditions prior to a planned tank <br /> closure/replacement at the proposed location of new .underground <br /> storage Danks and the existing tank basin. Briefly the scope of Aegis! <br /> services included the following: <br /> i <br /> Drilling and sampling five soil borings at the existing <br /> T underground storage basin and associated plumbing system at . <br /> the locations identified in figure 2, according to the <br /> _ methods outlined in Appendix A. <br /> 2) Drilling and sampling eight soil borings at the proposed <br /> underground tank location,. at the locations shown in figure <br /> . 2, ,according to the methods described in Appendix A. <br /> 3) Drilling and sampling two soil. borings at the.western fuel <br /> 1 <br /> island,' at the locations identified in figure 2, according <br /> to the methods outlined in. Appendix A. <br /> , { 4) Recovering soil samples from each of the soil borings at <br /> five foot vertical spacings. <br /> 5) Logging each of the soil samples in accordance with the <br /> Unified Scil Classification System. <br /> 3 <br /> 6) Screening .each of the recovered samples for the presence of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons with a photoionization detector <br /> (PID) , according to the methods described in Appendix A. <br /> 7) Submitting a total of eleven soil samples to a state <br /> certified laboratory to be analyzed for petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons, according to the methods outlined in Appendix <br /> } A. <br /> yt � <br /> -- -- - <br /> --- -------_-..g)-----submitting- selected--soil samples-from-:the-proposed-now-tank - -- ----- — <br /> tank- <br /> location to 'a soils engineering for a qualitative assessment <br /> of slope stability_at the proposed tank location. <br /> 9) Preparing .this report and presenting. the results of <br /> Aegis' site assessment, .-with conclusions and recommendations <br /> for mitigation during the planned tank .closure/replacement. <br /> l <br />
