The site
lies within a commercial area in southern Lodi. Additional information
- regarding adjacent land uses, tank storage products, spill history, on
and off-site utility locations, site and regional geology, site and
regional hydrogeology, and local water well information is presented
j in section 2.0 of Aegis' "Pre-Tank Replacement Site Assesnment Work
Plan" (Aegis, August, 1989) .
i 3.0 ^ESULTS
! n
The following subsections present the results of investigative
activities conducted at the site, 'including soil conditions and the
presence of petroleum hydrocarbonsat the existing and proposed
{1 underground storage tank locations.
3.1 BOIL CONDITIONS
A total of fifteen soil borings were drilled, sampled and logged,
j according tc the methods described in Appendix A, at .the locations
¢¢ presented in figure 2. Soil borings ranged in depth from 11.5 ft. to !
I 21.5 ft. below the ground surface. Soil boring logs generated at the
ti.*ne"of drilling are contained in Ap-:endix. B,for review.
The soil boring logs were used to compile generalized cross sections
A-A' and B-B' , which are presented in figure 3. As .depiated in the {
cross_ sections, soil types are generally consistent across the site.
'Silt. (Unified Soil Classification System symbol ML) was the
predominant soil type encountered in the .soil borings. Silty sand was
encountere(3 in soil boring S-6, however, Sandy units: occurred as
' lensss in Ua remaining soil borings. Proposed soil boring B-4 was
deleted due. toits proximity to on-site utilities.
3.2 GROUND VATER CONDITIONS
3t. Free ground-water was not observed in any of the soil borings drilled
at the ffLc"e, to the maximum depth explored of 21.5 fa . well logs from
i water and monitoring wells near the site indicate first ground water
` J _.------_is-.. robabl resent-between--55---f;.-.-and_._.65 ft:.--,.below-..the--ground-surface
;::
qhs (Aegis, August, 1989) ." j
J,
w
'xy T r Mfr? -

11 IMIMN all=
;_ f 1,
!E'
