Ms Margaret Lagorio L= _
November 27, 1995 (9347-9013)
Results and Conclusions
The following are the results and conclusions based on this and previous investigations
• TPH as gasoline and BTEX were not detected above reported laboratory detection
limits in soil samples analyzed from borings MW-4 and B-17
• Adsorbed-phase TPH as gasoline and benzene were detected in boring B-8 at
1,060 and 1 81 ppm, respectively, in soil samples collected at 10 feet bg in
September 1989 (Attachment 2) However, TPH as gasoline and benzene were
not detected above reported detection limits in soil samples collected at 11, 16,
and 20 S feet bg from boring B-17 Boring B-17 is approximately 3 feet northeast
of boring B-8
• Comparison of laboratory results from this and previous investigations indicates
that the petroleum hydrocarbons detected in boring B-8 have naturally attenuated
Therefore, it appears that the soil in the vicinity of boring B-8 is no longer
impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons
The analytical results of ground water samples indicated the following
iTPH as gasoline and BTEX have not been detected above laboratory detection
limits in ground water samples collected from wells MW-1 through MW-4 since
July 1992 Therefore, it does not appear that ground water beneath the site has
been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons
Recommendations
Based on the above, Fugro recommends case closure with no further investigation or
monitoring activities performed at this site Fugro further recommends that the ground water
monitoring wells be destroyed in accordance with SJCPHSIEHD requirements on approval of this
case closure request
93479013 ARR -4-
