t <br /> I• <br /> Environmental Monitoring <br /> 1 The following environmental monitoring instruments shall be used during site <br /> activities <br /> Organic Vapor Analyzer - discrete soil samples shall be measured for <br /> organic vapors Occasional measurements will be taken of soils being <br /> removed The soils on the site may contain contamination from volatile <br /> organic compounds Organic vapor measurements in excess of 1 ,000 ppmv <br /> will require immediate cessation of the drilling and use of a combustible gas <br /> indicator to determine if explosive conditions are present <br /> Organic vapor measurements within the breathing zone exceeding 50 ppmv <br /> will require the use of EPA level C personal protective equipment <br /> 2 The Site Safety Officer shall be notified of any on-site emergencies or <br /> potential hazards noticed by other site personnel The Site Safety Officer is <br /> . responsible for determining whether it is safe to proceed If the Site Safety <br /> Officer does not or can not make the determination, then the Project <br /> Manager shall be contacted prior to continuing with the investigation <br /> 3 If any equipment on site fails to operate properly, the Field Team Leader and <br /> Site Safety Officer shall be notified The effect of this failure on continuing <br /> operations at the site will be assessed If the failure affects the safety of <br /> personnel or prevents completion of the workplan tasks, all personnel shall <br /> leave the fob site until the situation is evaluated and appropriate actions <br /> taken <br /> Personal Monitoring <br /> The following personal monitoring will be in effect on site <br /> Site personnel will be observed by the Site Safety Officer to determine whether they are <br /> operating in a safe manner Special attention will be given to potential heat stress and <br /> unsafe behavior around equipment <br /> Training Requirements <br /> All personnel will be up-to-date on the OSHA requirements set forth in 29 CFR 1910 120 <br /> HOSPITAL MAP ATTACHED <br /> I� <br />
